NOT ME! Monday!

Okay, I promised a really really good Not Me! Monday! so here goes....

While I was visiting some friends the other evening, I DID NOT forget to put Ellie up in the basement, and when I returned home I DID NOT notice white fur all over my black sheets, To clean up the mess I DID NOT grab the lint roller and clean up enough fur to make another lab puppy. Not me! You know, since it was like 10:30 pm I then started up the washer and washed my favorite sheets!

While hubby was away for the weekend, I DID NOT stay up til like 1 am every night watching old sitcoms like Family Matters and Friends. Then grabbing more rest during the day while Addie was taking her mid day naps. NOT ME! I went to bed at 11pm as usual.

That's it for the week! As you go throughout your day please pray for Mckmama's Stellan as he is still in the hospital with a serious heart condition that appears to be getting worse. You can visit her tab labled Mckmiracle!

I miss my husband, but I'm enjoying....

10. sleeping in the middle of the bed
9. not having to hear him ask what's for breakfast/lunch/dinner
8. the toilet seat being down
7. not having to share Addison's snuggles in the morning
6. NO SPORTS CENTER (enough said)
5. not having to pick up dirty glasses around the house
4. not having to share my computer (or anything for that matter)
3. Addison wanting ME all of the time (she's such a Daddy's girl)
2. SHOPPING! SHOPPING! SHOPPING!
1. right now it is 11:04pm. and I just started a chick flick and I intend to watch the entire movie, if hubby was here we'd be in bed soon!

Yes Dad, we miss you dearly and can't wait til your return, but Addie & I have had a blast this weekend without you!!

Girls Weekend!

First of all I want to apologize that there are NO pictures for this post. I'm waiting for my wonderful husband to return so that we can BOTH decide which camera to purchase. If you remember from my last post, our camera is broken because Addison dropped it in the hospital while we were visiting beautiful Ana Claire.

It has been such a great weekend (yes, we miss Dad)! Spunky is away at Chrysalis and we have not spoke with him since Thursday evening! So....what are two girls (three if you count Ellie) to do while Dad is away??? Have Fun!!

Saturday morning Addison and I stayed in our jammies until noon! We watched Sleeping Beauty, played babydolls, ate our lucky charms, cooked in her play kitchen, made a card for Dad and Uncle Sean, and now the little princess is down for her nap. We plan to go see Dad at Camp Tekoa this evening, eat dinner at McDonalds, and hopefully stop by Old Navy to find a white sweater to go with her easter dress! After all of that we're gonna head back so that I can get some snuggle time with Cooper (my nephew).

We've had such a great time together, but we do miss Dad and look forward to his homecoming tomorrow!!

CRAZY WEEK!!

Ok, just so you know I HAVE NOT forgotten about my blog. This week has been INSANE to say the least. So, why has it been so busy you ask?? Well a couple of nights I had to work late, add in hair cuts for Addie and I, Spunky preparing for this weekends Chrysalis flight, and having to do mandatory CPR at work on Thursday evening it all added up to an insane week. Not to mention that my camera is broken because Addie dropped it just after I took the gorgeous picture of Ana Claire at the hospital on Sunday. I promise promise that we will purchase a new one ASAP!!! Next week will be better....tune in on Monday when I reveal a great post for Not Me Monday! You can even join in on the fun if you sign up at www.mycharmingkids.blogspot.com ! Have a great weekend!!

UPDATE!

Our friends Jason and Sarah welcomed their daughter Ana Claire into the world this morning at 6:11 am. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 11oz. 21 in long. She and mommy are doing well! PRAISE GOD!
Notice the passie in the picture. This is actually Addison's cici as she calls it. She briefly gave it to her new friend while she was crying, but she requested it back after she saw that Ana Claire was not using it. Hopefully we will get rid of the cici soon!

Prayer Request!

Just wanted to ask everyone to please pray for our friends Jason & Sarah. Recently Sarah was admitted into the hospital to be induced into labor. This is their first child and we ask you all to please pray for the delivery to be smooth and the baby will be healthy! Hopefully Ana Claire will make her way into the world sometime tonight!

The Christmas Gift That Saved Dinner!

Okay, so you all know I am a full time mommy with a full time job outside of the home. Prior to Addison being born I thought about staying home many many times, but that wasn't in GOD's plan for our family and that is okay! While I hate being away from Addison for 11 hours out of the day I feel like I am good at my job, and I really enjoy helping other kids and their parents at the same time. I feel like this is God's will for our family.

Nevertheless....life is busy!! I am always looking for easy recipes to serve our family a healthy meal; I use my crock pot, frozen veggies, and anything that will guarantee our little family an easy fixed meal! At Christmas my husband bought me a quesadilla maker (and to be honest with you, I wasn't really thrilled about this gift) until this week! Spunky and I have always vowed that even though we both work, WE WILL all sit down as a family each evening and eat together!

So, it was another chaotic Tuesday evening and I was dredding the question that I was about to hear "what's for dinner??" I had no clue and nothing in the crock pot that evening! So, I hurridly fried up some steak tips, cut up some pepper and onion and thought....this would be great in a quesadilla! So I then pulled out my handy little contraption and we had the best dinner! We even ate leftovers for a couple of nights! While Spunk and I enjoyed the steak quesadillas, Addison ate half of a cheese quesadilla by herself!

So...if there are any other working mom's out there...this $20 quesadilla maker is the thing to have! It only took 20 minutes to fix this wonderful dinner! Yum!!

Not Me Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her/'>http://www.mycharmingkids.net">her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Ok ok, I'll admit that I've always wanted to play this game! I first learned about this game on my favorite blog www.mycharmingkids.blogspot.com if you haven't visited McMama's blog then you're missing out! It's a lot of fun!!!

So here goes.......

On Sunday night at church we had a covered dish ( you know where you actually make something home made and bring it so that everyone can share) I DID NOT open a bag of trail mix and dump it into a corning ware bowl and head out the door for church! And we WERE NOT late at all!

While I was taking my day off from work on Friday I DID NOT play online & watch some must needed tv during Addison's long nap time! Not Me; that would be totally lazy!

Ok now that wasn't so bad...why don't you check out McMama's blog for yourself and play along too! It's a lot of fun!

My Wonderful Husband

In Church today our pastor entitled his sermon "Focus on the Family". It was a great sermon and it got me thinking about how wonderful my husband is.
He is a great father to Addison! Not only does he play with her each and every afternoon he also takes her to school every morning. That also entails feeding her breakfast, getting her dressed and the occasional play of baby dolls prior to going to school. He also happily gets up extra early to watch cartoons with her. After his layoff with the Balsam Mountain Preserve he looked at me straight in the eye and told me "Keisha this is going to be okay because I have always prayed that I would get a job that I would be able to take my children to school each day" . He certainly got what he prayed for because his shift doesn't start til 10 am while I have to be in Asheville by 8 am.
He also likes to find ways to help me out; he is always there to help me cook dinner, fold laundry or whatever needs to be done. I am so blessed that he always looks for ways to make my life easier!
My husband is also a follower of Christ! Each night he spends at least an hour reading his Bible and praying. On Sunday's he is also the first one up because he is so excited to go to church!
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband that cares about me and my daughter and I thank GOD for him!

Mommy's Day Out!

Today was such a FUN day. I haven't had a day so fun since last summer when Spunky and I took Addison to Dollywood's splash country. So even though there was no water or sun involved TODAY was a lot of fun. Why you ask??

Today I (Keisha) spent the entire day with my fun loving sister. We got up early and ate a delecious breakfast cooked by Mom (gravy & biscuits, applesauce, sausage, chocolate milk the works...yum!) Mom even got up at 6:30 am to prepare the wonderful feast because our husbands had to be in Asheville for a Chrysalis team meeting.

Then, Christal & I had a couple of hours to play with our wonderful children. It is so fun to do that because Cooper can crawl now (and guess who forgot her camera so there are no pictures to show you), and he chases after Addison and grabs her ci-ci (passie). It is so cute to watch them play so well together. We can already tell that they are going to be really close!

So now it's going on ~ 10:30 and Christal and I head out and go to Gaffney, SC to the Prime Outlets. We had so much fun! We mostly shopped for our children's summer clothing while our wonderful mother watched our adorable children! We originally asked Mom to accopany us to Gaffney, but she declined saying that she would rather watch her grandkids than shop. Christal and I shopped for 7 whole hours!!! It was so much fun to spend time with each other. So...this is what I got for Addison:
*2 dresses
*2 packs of socks
* 1 pair of hot pink mary jane crocs
*1 pair of jeans
* 1 pair of shorts
*several shirts ( too many to count)
I also bought a couple of things for my hubby, some of Cooper's birthday gift, and myself a sweatshirt because it was sooo cold in Gaffney and I did not bring a sweat shirt with me!

Such a fun day....would love to make it a yearly tradition!

4. Eat dinner on the picnic table on the porch.
5. Have story time underneath a blanket while we rock under the stars.
6. Consider purchasing a swing set
7. Go barefoot
8. Go for a walk / jog after work / school
9. Wagon rides
10. Say goodbye to that high power bill & sleep
with the windows open!!
Come quick Spring!

It has been a while since I have posted, so make sure that you scroll down and read all posts!

thank you for visiting our blog.....enjoy!!!

this is one of my favorite pictures of Addison at 3-4 months old!

Outside Fun!

The Goodman family has really enjoyed the switch to daylight savings time & the wonderful spring like weather! Every afternoon Addison has retreated outside to play with Ellie and her power wheels (she calls it her beep beep). Enjoy the pictures that I got of her and Ellie on this spring like day.

Addison thinks it is so funny to chase you in the yard!! This very image makes me worried about her driving in 14 years!

Not to worry...Ellie was not harmed during the making of these pictures. She was too interested in this stick to notice that Addison was on her back!

And for those of you who are worried about my husbands elbow and shoulder....it looks like he is doing better don't ya think? Thanks for all of the prayers for him! We are so blessed that he can pick up his daughter like this, and she loves it and always begs for some more rough play!!

Potty Time!

Well, it's official! Addison is officially "potty training". Addison first used the potty in April of 2008, but since then she has not been going regularly. We've tried everything...sitting her on the potty every few hours, pull ups, encouraging her to go to the bathroom; but all of those attempts just went down the toilet (without her pee pee and poopie).

So, we have started letting her wear "big girl panties" for most of the day. She still wears diapers for nap & bed time, but she is doing well with her panties. She has only had about 3 accidents all week. She actually went #2 on the potty on Sunday night for the first time. ( I have a great picture of this event, but I don't think that it is blog appropriate).

Her Dad and I are really proud of the big step that she is taking! Way to go Addison!!

P.S. She also gets m&m's every time she goes to the potty!

The Addiction

Addison has become addicted to the hit tv show John & Kate + 8....on the way home she starts to yell "show" , "Show" . As soon as she walks into the door she heads to the tv and asks me to play it on the DVD player. We don't like her to watch tv all of the time, but it does occupy her while I cook dinner.

Addison's Picnic!

What a perfect day! The weather was warm and sunny. After breakfast Addison raced outside to enjoy some warm weather and some much needed time with Ellie and her sidewalk chalk.
After doodeling in the carport for a couple of hours she decided that it was time for lunch; so we moved her small table and chair to the carport and set up Addison's first picnic! On the menu was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a bananna, and a small bowl of cheese it's. She seemed to enjoy it until Ellie decided to come back outside and snatched half of her sandwich! No worries though, mom was there to make a new one!
Now the little artist is clean after a much needed bath and resting away dreaming of her next masterpiece! Sweet dreams!

Please pray for baby Jonah

I don't know how many of you have visited the little gadget on my sidebar titled " Please pray for Baby Jonah". If you haven't I hope that you will take the time to visit the blog of a nice family who lives in Winston Salem, NC (no, my sister Christal and brother in law, Sean do not know the family personally). Prior to Jonah being born his parents gave birth to another baby boy, but unfortunately this baby born was stillborn.

Several weeks ago Jonah's parents gave birth to him, but baby Jonah was born with a horrible skin infection. I am not sure what the diagnosis is actually called, but it looks as if Jonah has painful blisters all over his body. Jonah is also having a very difficult time eating, and as you can imagine his parents can not hold him and have to take lots of precautions to even be near him. At this point Jonah's white blood cell count is droping and they have fear that he is starting to get some kind of infection.

Please pray for this family, and visit their blog via the link on my sidebar.

Spunky and I feel so blessed to have such a precious little girl in our lives. She is definately the "star" in our lives and we thank GOD for every day that we have with her!

How Precious...

who knew church could be soooo relaxing?!?

I SCREAM! YOU SCREAM! WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!!!

OKAY SO WE ALL KNOW THAT THE GOODMAN FAMILY LOVES ICE CREAM! ICE CREAM BECAME A FAMILY TRADITION WAAAYYYY BACK WHEN SPUNKY AND I WERE DATING. WE ALWAYS BRAKE WHEN WE SEE A DAIRY QUEEN, BUT ONE THING THAT WE DEFINATELY LOVE IS UNIQUE ICE CREAM PLACES AND SINCE WE MOVED TO WAYNESVILLE ALMOST THREE YEARS AGO WE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THAT PERFECT UNIQUE ICE CREAM SHOP. I LOVED AMMONS DRIVE IN...ALWAYS HAVE, EVER SINCE I WAS A KID. THERE DELECIOUS PEANUT BUTTER MILK SHAKES MAKE MY MOUTH WATER LIKE A THIRSTY IQUANA IN THE DESERT.... BUT MY DIFFICULT HUSBAND DIDN'T QUITE LIKE IT AS MUCH AS I DO....HE ALWAYS COMPLAINS THAT IT'S TOO CROWDED AND THAT IT WAS TOO GENERIC.

SO WE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A ONE OF A KIND ICE CREAM PARLOR FOR ALMOST THREE YEARS...IN HENDERSONVILLE OUR SUNDAY TRADITION INCLUDED A MOVIE AND ICE CREAM AT PIGGY'S EVERY SUNDAY AFTERNOON, AND WE MISSED OUR ICE CREAM TRADITIONS SINCE WE HAVE MOVED TO WAYNESVILLE.

SO, THE OTHER NIGHT WE DECIDED ONCE MORE TO GO AND TRY TO FIND OUR PERFECT ICE CREAM PARLOR...AND WE WERE ANTICIPATING ANOTHER DISAPOINTING EVENING....IT ALL STARTED WHEN WE GOT TO THE INTERSECTION OF WALKER RD. AND THE BYPASS AND MY WONDERFUL HUBBY SAID "SYLVA OR WAYNESVILLE" AND I RESPONDED "SYLVA" THEN I REMEMBERD THAT I RECENTLY SAW A NEW ICE CREAM PARLOR BY THE MOVIE THEATRE IN SYLVA. SO WE FINALLY ARRIVE AT THE PARLOR AND THERE ARE NO CUSTOMERS INSIDE (THIS IS NOT A GOOD SIGN FOR MY HUSBAND WHO ALWAYS SAYS IF IT'S GOOD THE LOCALS WILL BE THERE) WE GO INSIDE AND TAKE A QUICK PEEK AROUND. THE PARLOR IS CALLED "JACK THE DIPPER" AND WE DISCOVER LOTS OF DIFFERENT ICE CREAMS (OR PLAIN OLD CREAM IF YOU'RE ASKING ADDISON) SUCH AS BIRTHDAY CAKE, CATAMOUNT TRACKS, AND LOTS OF LOW FAT ONES AS WELL( FOR MY LIGHTEN UP FOR LIFE FRIENDS). THE INSIDE OF THE PARLOR IS DECORATED AS AN OLD SCHOOL HOUSE WITH SMALL DESKS ALONG WITH TABLES INSIDE.

WE THEN ORDER OUR UNIQUE ICE CREAM CHOICES AND ASK IF THEY HAPPEN TO HAVE WAFFLE CONES... THE ICE CREAM SCOOPER MAN QUICKLY TURNS AROUND AND BEGINS TO MAKE HOME MADE WAFFLE CONES!!! MAN OH MAN ARE THEY GOOD!! THE ICE CREAM WAS ALSO DELECIOUS!! SPUNKY ALWAYS ORDERS THE SAME OLD THING (HEAVENLY HASH, I CALL HIM GRANDADDY COMPTON) WHILE ADDISON AND I ALWAYS TRY TO MIX THINGS UP! THE BEST PART IS THE PRICE ONE SCOOP IS ONLY $1 (NO I AM NOT KIDDING). SO IF YOU ARE EVER OVER TO VISIT; ASK US TO TAKE YOU TO JACK THE DIPPER....WE GUARANTEE YOU WILL LOVE IT! NOTICE THE PICTURE OF ADDISON IN A SCHOOL DESK!

Snow Day!

Well the weather channel got the forecast right! On Sunday we recieved several inches of snow and it was beautiful! The snow started as we left for church on Sunday morning and we arrived home we had a couple of inches on the ground. By the afternoon we had enough to make this huge snowman! Addison had a great time playing with Ellie in the snow and only complained when she fell and could not get up from being so bundled up. Unfortunately our snowman only lived for one day; when we woke up on Monday morning the gusty wind had knocked him over during the night. It was fun while it lasted!
